At age seventeen Mario enlisted in the United States Army as a private and nearly two decades later he retired as a Captain. During his tenure he served as aviator, acquisition manager and professor of military science and leadership at the University of Puerto Rico. His accomplishments in military, civilian and community service earned him one of the most prestigious awards our society bestows upon young men and women. In 1990, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Mario as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans (Humanitarian Service) and subsequently he was honored as The 1990 Outstanding Young Person of the World for Moral Leadership. Additionally, Mario was elected into the 1992 Who's Among Hispanic Americans, and in 1999 Who's Among Law Students. In 1995 Mario served as Chairman, European Business Conference, Strasbourg, France and supervised the European Continent as Executive Vice President Junior Chamber International. Mario is the founder of Garcia Law Offices, P.A. a small firm with headquarters in Miami, Florida and a second office in Orlando, Florida. The firm practice areas include: real estate law, real estate closings, criminal defense, immigration law, family law, commercial litigation, military law, and personal injury/wrongful death claims. Mario’s degrees include: Ph.D. in Psychology, Capella University, Minneapolis, Mn., 2003; Juris Doctor, 1999, from the University of Miami School of Law, Coral Gables, Fl., MBA in Management, 1987, Golden Gate University, San Francisco, Ca., and a BS in Business, Regents College, Albany, N.Y., 1984. Additionally, Mario has a Post Doctoral Certification in Neuropsychology from Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, CA. Mario has a distinguished community service record as he has served for the past 10 years as President of CCI School of Counseling & Technology, a two-year vocational school dedicated to training prevention and addiction counselors and mental health professionals, and has served on other not-for-profit boards, such as Helen B. Bentley Family Health Center, and Elijah Network. Mario is married to the former Wanda I. Rodriguez for 30 years, and has three children, Melanie, Erica and Mario Alexander and three grandchildren.
